Skeletal muscle comprises the major organ system in our bodies and is effector tissue for fundamental processes, such as movement, breathing glucose homeostasis. However, regeneration can be insufficient to repair injuries or become exhausted by ongoing fiber damage that occurs muscular dystrophy. Cell therapy provide a source of myogenic stem cells repopulate lost fibers an attractive option treat skeletal injury Induced pluripotent (iPSCs) have potential ideal donor cells. This review will discuss research applications iPSCs facilitate repair, which involve cell transplantation, vitro modeling normal dystrophic tissue, drug screening protocols.
